Welcome back to Monday Mom Moment! I came across a quote that really hit home. “Today, what are the most important things I need to teach, say to, and do with my kids… Time with our children is fleeting. We think we have all the time in the world, but that way of thinking allows us to put off the really important things (read “people”) as we use up our time and energy on the daily necessities…” –Scharlotte Rich
What is the most important thing you need to do with your kids today? My guess is that it isn’t the dishes, laundry, or any other task on your to-do list. Our kids are only young for a short period of time and we often spend that time caught up in things we need to do.
I don’t want you to think too big. I would bet the most important thing you need to do isn’t necessarily something big like a trip to Disneyland (even though that sounds like fun!). It could be something as simple as playing, reading, going for a walk and connecting. I notice when our kids are having a rough time, the most important thing for me to do is stop and play with them.
I encourage you to find a way to connect with your kids every day. It doesn’t have to be something big, but it should be important and meaningful.
