Renewed Hope Parenting was founded out of the need for a safe environment for parents to express parenting struggles and learn new skills in partnership with other parents. Together, Chris and Emily have seen how struggling parenting can be, and how rewarding and joyous it can be. We hope we are able to help our community through our blog, Facebook page, and parenting courses. After we lost our home in the Carr Fire in July 2018, the community showed incredible support, and we hope to continue the spirit of hope and encouragement.
We are a local, family operated business seeking to offer help creating a generation of loving parents and responsible kids. Since this is a customizable program, we can gear it to individual parenting styles, or blend different parenting styles into a system that works for your family. We have been running these classes in Redding for four years.
We are currently working to add private, educational parenting consulting meetings in the near future.
Chris believes healthy parents are the foundation for healthy families. Too often when counseling couples, he has seen progress be halted by parenting struggles. Because of this stress, he wanted to create a customizable parenting program to support parents, create harmony, compassion, and deeper relationships with their children. His hope is that parents will do this together to create unity, trust, and safety.
In Emily’s journey as a mother, she has experienced and seen the struggles parents deal with, and the lack of support and encouragement. Parents often talk to one another when they struggle, which does not often provide the relief, support, or encouragement most parents are desperately seeking. Her hope is to be the support and empowerment for parents who are dealing with the same overwhelming, joyous, messy, chaotic, and amazing parts of parenting.
Chris and Emily have been married for 11 years and have three beautiful children. Chris is originally from San Jose and Emily was born and raised in the Redding area. Chris holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology and has worked as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Redding for nine years. He draws upon his experiences as a therapist, mentor, coach, and dad to take something as complicated as parenting and make it simple. Emily earned a PhD in 2015, and has since completed an additional Graduate degree in Early Childhood Education and Childhood Development, and a Certificate in Child Psychology, and Adverse Childhood Experiences. She is also a Certified Life Coach. She is a stay-at-home-mom and has seen firsthand how demanding parenting can be, and how rewarding and amazing it is. Additionally, she writes Renewed Hope Parenting’s blog and has published articles on other parenting sites, including Parent.co, Her View From Home, Red Tricycle, and Joyful Living Magazine.
